Welcome To You

Hi!
I'm glad to welcome you to this Conversation Place, a place to leave your comments about life on earth, love in the 21st century, and the worship of the Triune God.
This is the birthday of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Ralph Nader and Elizabeth Taylor.
I remember reading Longfellow's EVANGELINE as a kid - a small, worn, brown leather volume. No one I know writes such poetic "novellas" today - there's not much of a market for them.
Ralph Nader, an unusual man, and a pariah to Democrats since he ran against Al Gore in 2000, siphoning off Democratic votes that might have defeated George W. Bush. What will be his legacy?
Elizabeth Taylor - have I ever seen a movie she was in that I liked? (Maybe AMERICAN VELVET?)
Here's a poem for you:
TODAY I FALL UPON YOUR GRACE (Gary Hicks - copyright 2007)
You are my hope, my confidence for this uncertain day
All other hopes are few and weak - they fade and slip away
I need a rock, an anchoring place
Today I fall upon your grace.
You are the ancient remedy, the everlasting cure
And deep within I strengthen, for your remedy is sure
I need a rock, a healing place
Today I fall upon your grace.
You are my mighty comfort still, now closer than my breath
With steady arms you ferry me on waves of doubt and death
I need a rock, a sailing place
Today I fall upon your grace.
You are the willing offering, the sacrificial lamb,
And on that distant dismal hill you bore the sins of man
You are my rock, my saving place
Today I stand upon your grace.
